During our two-week absence, thank goodness it finally rained—just enough to keep everything from drying out. The sun’s waning intensity is also bringing a bit of green back to the garden… its survival is assured.
Asters and Jerusalem artichokes dominate the garden with their purple and yellow hues. The bergenias are blooming for a second time, and a few roses are delighting us with their sparse blossoms.
One cucumber! From four plants—plus a few peppers and tomatoes that will hopefully turn red soon—and finally, we can look forward to a harvest of green beans!
