A chess flower (Fritillaria meleagris)!
Only this one – and in a spot where no one has planted it.
And bigger than all the previous ones.
Our garden is covered with dead nettles – much to the delight of the bees!
The garden is now full of daffodils and tulips in all colors. The pink lilies of the valley are also everywhere, and now the primroses too.
The tree peonies already have thick buds, and the first hostas are opening their leaves. A leopard’s bane has also appeared. Two years ago, we brought three plants back from a hike and planted them in different places in the garden. We hadn’t seen them before – suddenly there they are! Giant rhubarb and petas are exploding by the pond, and the oriental poppies are blooming on the hill. You can almost watch them grow! Bleeding hearts and snowflakes display their countless blooms.
Pear, rosemary, and currant blossoms!
Anemones and hyacinths in wonderful violet!
